Michelle Maule @ Tilde in October

Tilde will host a First Friday Reception for the Portland artist Michelle Maule in October. Michele will be showing a collection of her drawings, paintings and prints influenced by friendship, music, bicycle rides and broken family ties.

Michele Maule is an artist living and working in Portland. She graduated from Portland State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking with a focus on printmaking. She works in several different mediums including oil painting, collage, printmaking, and illustration.

Most of her work is based on her personal life experiences and the relationships she has with the people around her. The things that are often overlooked and otherwise passed up, or put aside. These are the things that she takes into consideration. She loves finding those moments in life that leave her feeling speechless, and sometimes a little awkward. Through her artwork Michelle feels she is able to sort through the complexities of her life.
