Bite Studio launches first invitational show in November
First Friday Celebration: Friday, November 6, 6-10 pm
November hours: 12-3; Fridays & 12-5; Saturdays
Bite Studio presents our first invitational show. Four local artists with intriguing new work will join us for the month of November.
Carol Berryhill creates quiet, mysterious portraits and scenes. Carol presents delicate, rich etchings and painterly monotypes which “illustrate the close and sometimes unsettling connection we have to our surroundings.
Marilyn Joyce’s Field Notes #2 derive from the natural terrain as recordings of walks in the hills of Northwest Portland. The countours of the land, animal paths, bird migrations, growth and decay combine with the passage of time and memory and are reflected in her prints.
Roberta Aylward’s new work unites the mediums of screen printing and collage. Her surreal and playful imagery features abstract lines, shapes and patterns and photographic images found in the pages of vintage magazines.
Jason Mayer enjoys the immediacy and magic that happens when making monotypes. He uses photographs taken of places that have a strong sense of place as a catalyst to developing a more intuitive emotional landscape.
