Meg Kaczyk @ The Press Club in February
Meg Kaczyk’s latest show entitled THE URBAN LANDSCAPE opens this Friday, February 5 at the cool Press Club, 2621 SE Clinton. The show will run through February.

This new work is 16 paintings that convey cities – with buildings, people, life in motion. These elements are a landscape of colorful energy. The paintings capture street scenes from Portland, Victoria, Paris, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Bisbee, Arizona, but this series is not intended as a travelogue. Rather, it is meant to illustrate a common sense of place, of humanness, of lives being lived. If a natural landscape shows us divine order, then the urban landscape shows us the human order of things.
Meg works in gloss latex enamel paint. Simple, clean, durable – the primal medium of home decoration brought into art. The simplicity and ease of the painting is in harmony with the pulse of energy captured in her work. Meg lets the paint drip and flow, with layers of pattern and line. This is art you can touch.
The opening party is on First Friday, February 5, 6-9 pm and will feature DJ music amidst the Press Club’s cultured urban ambiance.
