First Friday Artist’s Reception at Tilde

Tulips and Bees
Tilde, 7919 SE 13th Avenue, Portland OR, will host a 1st Friday Reception for the Portland artist Shauneen Field from 6pm-9pm, Friday, April 2. Inspired by the birth of her new baby girl, Shauneen has created a new series of images invoking ‘spring’. Her current work is truly mixed media in style as she utilizes wood, acrylics, ink, collage and wax to create this show of visual art featuring bees, birds, bugs, flowers and trees.
Shauneen grew up riding horses, running, surfing in the Pacific and skiing in the Cascades. Inspired by her active outdoor life, most of her artwork captures natural and organic forms. Shauneen also uses an abundance of color and texture to bring depth and life to her paintings. Her artwork is quite diverse in style with work ranging from abstract to landscape and portraits, and utilizing a wide range of media including acrylics, wood, resin, wax, ink, and watercolor.
Located in Sellwood, Tilde hosts a revolving monthly art show, with receptions on the 1st Friday of each month. Tilde, a modern lifestyle shop, offers a well-edited selection of women’s accessories and home decorative items that are created, hands-on, by either an individual artist or design group. Displayed in a home/gallery environment each product has an artist’s statement displayed nearby to reveal the story behind each item.
