Newspace Center for Photography is pleased to announce an exhibition of photographs by Elizabeth Fleming and Bryan Wolf. The exhibition opening and artist’s lecture are both free and open to the public. 

Elizabeth Fleming
“Life is a Series of Small Moments”  

This series is an ongoing body of work documenting the artist’s two small daughters as they grow older. It is an exploration of intimacy and disclosure, vulnerability and awe, and the bittersweet knowledge that everything is impermanent. 

Elizabeth Fleming was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1975. She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and the School of Visual Arts in New York City, earning both her BFA and MFA in photography with honors. She has shown widely throughout the US; recent exhibitions include group shows at Hous Projects in New York City, Randall Scott Gallery in Brooklyn, and Photo LA. She received an Honorable Mention in Blurb’s 2009 Photography.Book.Now competition, as well as third place in CENTER Santa Fe’s Singular Image competition and an Artists’ ShowCase Award from The Center for Fine Art Photography. She lives in Maplewood, NJ with her husband and two young daughters. www.elizabethfleming.com.

Bryan Wolf
“The Peaceful Outdoors” 

Bryan Wolf is endlessly inspired by the little moments of everyday life and primarily photographs his wife and three young children. This body of work is part of a long-term project photographing his family. The work celebrates the peacefulness of playtime in the garden of a former house, where the family spent seven years.

Bryan Wolf has exhibited at the Portland Art Center, the University of Portland, the Portland Airport, and Newspace Center for Photography. His work is in the permanent collection of the Tacoma Art Museum (Washington) and the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago). Bryan is also a photo-educator and custom printer. He serves on the board of Photolucida and is a member of the Portland Grid Project. Bryan is also the founder of Lightleak, a local photography group. He lives in Portland, OR.
